DESCRIPTION:Leaf Collection and Brush Collection for ALL Routes will take place beginning on Monday\, May 6th\, through Friday\, May 10th.   Collection will take place for one week only.  (The next collection will not take place until September.) Leaves and Brush must be placed curbside by Sunday\, May 5th.  Leaves and Brush should NOT be placed in the street. Residents may bring leaves and brush to the DPW yard located at 7 Smith Street on Wednesday’s or Saturday’s from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Shade Tree Commission is charged with maintaining a healthy and safe community forest resource. \nGood management of our community forest will improve our air and water quality\, reduce energy costs\, increase property values\, improve the health of our residents\, and beautifies our Borough. The Shade Tree Commission enforces the Borough’s tree removal and tree replacement Ordinances. \nMonthly meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7pm at the Stanhope Municipal Building.

DESCRIPTION:The Board of Health\, in conjunction with the Sussex County Health Department\, provides an array of health promotion and disease prevention programs such as cancer screenings\, blood pressure testing\, and flu & pneumonia vaccinations. \nEnvironmental health services include inspection of restaurants and retail food vendors\, inspection of public bathing facilities\, free rabies immunization clinic\, mosquito control and radon kits at a reasonable price. \nAnimal control services are provided for stray dogs and cats\, and other animal related concerns. \nThe Board of Health meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:00PM at the Stanhope Municipal Building at 77 Main Street. (Meetings are not scheduled for the months of July and August.)

All proposed development must be presented before the Land Use Board for approval. In addition\, the Land Use Board considers the appeals of decisions made by our Zoning Officer\, interprets our zoning map\, and has the authority to grant zoning variances to applicants from requirements established in our Land Use Development Ordinances. DESCRIPTION:Our Seniors meet on the 4th Thursday of every month\, 11am\, at the American Legion Musconetcong Post 278 located at 119 Route 183 in Stanhope. (The club does not meet in December or August.) Arrive at 11am for a social hour. The meeting begins at 12pm. \nDues are $15 per year. Members are 55 years of age or older. A great way to meet new friends in a social setting! Coffee and cake is always served. Many activities are scheduled throughout the year.
