DESCRIPTION:Our Seniors meet on the 4th Thursday of every month\, 11am\, at the American Legion Musconetcong Post 278 located at 119 Route 183 in Stanhope. (November’s meeting will be held on the 3rd Thursday of the month. The club does not meet in December or August.) Arrive at 11am for a social hour. The meeting begins at 12pm. \nDues are $15 per year. Members are 55 years of age or older. A great way to meet new friends in a social setting! Coffee and cake is always served. Many activities are scheduled throughout the year.

DESCRIPTION:The Annual Stanhope Community Tree Lighting will take place at Borough Hall\, 77 Main Street\, on Sunday\, December 3rd at 5:30PM.  Live holiday music will be provided by the Valley Road School Choir and Santa will make a guest appearance.  After the tree lighting\, walk down the street to the Presbyterian Church for more activities.  You can take your picture with Santa (please bring your own camera).   Enjoy hot cocoa and delicious cookies provided by the Stanhope Senior Citizens Group.  There will be holiday music and a dance party!  This event is sponsored by the Stanhope Recreation Commission. \n(Please note:  New this year\, Santa will be at the Presbyterian Church after the tree lighting for pictures. Be sure to bring your camera.)

DESCRIPTION:One Day Only – Saturday\, December 9th\, from 8:00am – 3:30pm\, you can bring electronics to the Stanhope DPW Yard located at 7 Smith Street to be recycled.   The company called Green Vision will be collecting the following items: computers\, computer accessories\, lap tops\, printers\, copy machines\, fax machines\, scanners\, VCR’s\, DVD players\, CD players\, phones\, small kitchen appliances (toasters\, microwaves\, coffee makers\, can openers)\, Vacuums (dust bags removed or cans emptied)\, LCD monitors and Flat Screen TV’s.  (Remember to erase all personal information from your devices when recycling computers\, laptops and phones.) \nPlease Note The Following Will NOT Be Accepted: Tube TVS or Tube Monitors and items containing freon. \nGreen Vision\, located in Randolph\, NJ\,  is an innovative program that teaches adolescent students and adults with autism how to properly dismantle and recycle unwanted electronics (e-waste).  The program challenges the students with tasks that allow them to use problem solving skills while dismantling a wide variety of devices.  As the e-waste is being taken apart\, the students and adults sort the materials so they can be recycled.  Green Vision is 99.7% landfill free\, and all of the recyclable materials go to federally licensed facilities.
