DESCRIPTION:One Day Only – Saturday\, April 26th\, from 8:00am – 3:30pm\, you can bring electronics to the Stanhope DPW Yard located at 7 Smith Street to be recycled.   The company called Green Vision will be collecting the following items: computers\, computer accessories\, lap tops\, printers\, copy machines\, fax machines\, scanners\, VCR’s\, DVD players\, CD players\, phones\, small kitchen appliances (toasters\, microwaves\, coffee makers\, can openers)\, Vacuums (dust bags removed or cans emptied)\, LCD monitors and Flat Screen TV’s.  (Remember to erase all personal information from your devices when recycling computers\, laptops and phones.) \nPlease Note The Following Will NOT Be Accepted: Tube TVS or Tube Monitors and items containing freon. \nGreen Vision\, located in Randolph\, NJ\,  is an innovative program that teaches adolescent students and adults with autism how to properly dismantle and recycle unwanted electronics (e-waste).  The program challenges the students with tasks that allow them to use problem solving skills while dismantling a wide variety of devices.  As the e-waste is being taken apart\, the students and adults sort the materials so they can be recycled.  Green Vision is 99.7% landfill free\, and all of the recyclable materials go to federally licensed facilities.

The winner will receive a $500.00 award and the opportunity to represent Stanhope Borough at the annual Queen of the Fair Contest which will be held at the Sussex County Fair this summer. The runner up will receive a $250.00 award. This is the link to the application:  Miss Stanhope 2025 Application (Applications must be submitted by June 1st.) \n\n\nIn addition to the “Miss Stanhope” Contest\, there will also be a “Royal Court” Contest. DESCRIPTION:For Primary and General Elections\, New Jersey voters have the option to vote early in person on voting machines at “Vote Centers” in their county. The three sites designated as Vote Centers in Sussex County are: \n\nCochran House Building\, Level PL\, 83 Spring St. in Newton\nSussex-Wantage Branch Library\, Wantage\, Google Maps Link\nLouise Childs Branch Library\, Stanhope\, Google Maps Link\n\nThe Early Voting period for the June 10\, 2025 Primary Election is Tuesday\, June 3rd through Sunday\, June 8th\, with the following hours: Tuesday through Saturday\, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday\, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. \nRegistered voters will receive a Sample Ballot in the mail 10-13 days before Election Day\, which will provide address information for the Vote Centers\, as well as voting hours. \nNOTE! If you’re a voter who is scheduled to receive a mail-in ballot for the upcoming election\, but you would rather vote in person at the polls\, you should opt off the vote-by-mail list before ballots are mailed. DESCRIPTION:The Stanhope Recreation Committee is sponsoring the “Miss Stanhope” Contest along with her Royal Court Contest on Thursday\, June 19th. This event will take place at the Lenape Valley Regional High School Auditorium from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. The “Miss Stanhope” Contest is open to all young women from age 17 to 21. The winner will receive a $500.00 award and the opportunity to represent Stanhope Borough at the annual Queen of the Fair Contest which will be held at the Sussex County Fair this summer. The runner up will receive a $250.00 award. This is the link to the application:  Miss Stanhope 2025 Application (Applications must be submitted by June 1st.) \nIn addition to the “Miss Stanhope” Contest\, there will also be a “Royal Court” Contest. There are four categories in the “Royal Court” Contest. The “Little Mister Stanhope” is for boys ages 5-7. The “Little Miss Stanhope” is for girls ages 5-7. The “Young Miss Stanhope” is for girls ages 8-12 and the “Teen Miss Stanhope” is for girls ages 13-16.
