DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT LAKE MUSCONETCONG NOTICE – The annual temporary draw down of the lake is scheduled to start October 25th. The two foot reduction should be completed by November 1st and the lake will remain at that lower level for about a month. \nThe draw down allows for shoreline clean up and maintenance and repair of rock walls and permanent docks. If you have boats and floating docks to be removed we recommend this be done by October 25th\, as the first couple of days of draw down will be significant. \nPlease plan your activities accordingly.  Thank you.

DESCRIPTION:Lake Musconetcong Needs Your Help!  The Water Chestnut is an invasive aquatic plant species which needs to be hand-pulled annually from Lake Musconetcong.  The Water Chestnut depletes oxygen in the water for aquatic life and makes it difficult to navigate the lake by boat.  Canoes and kayaks will be used to access the parts of the lake which cannot be reached with the weed harvester.  Water Chestnut is weakly rooted and easily removed by hand.  Join us on Saturday\, July 15th from 10:00am to 2:00pm. (Rain Date: Sunday\, July 16th) We will be meeting at Port Morris Park (23 Washington Street\, Landing\, NJ).  Please bring your kayaks and canoes\, life vests\, sunscreen and dress appropriately.  Participants must be 16 years old or older.  No experience necessary.  Last year approximately 10\,000 lbs of water chestnut was removed from the lake. \nContact Taran at 848-702-5819 or email: ambassador@musconetcong.org to pre-register.  Lunch will be provided.  This event is hosted by the AmeriCorps Watershed Ambassador for the Upper Delaware Management Area and they are partnering with the Musconetcong Watershed Association\, the Lake Musconetcong Regional Planning Board\, Rutgers Cooperative Extension\, the Morris County Park Commission and the Hopatcong State Park.

DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar and save the date!  The Townwide Garage Sale is scheduled for Saturday\, June 10th. This event is sponsored by the Stanhope Chamber of Commerce.   The maps can be picked up on Saturday morning at Ted’s Deli on Route 183\, Netcong Hardware on Route 183\, Deli Delicious on Main Street and the Express Mart located at the corner of Brooklyn Road and Sparta Road. \nAfter the garage sale any items which did not sell can be be donated to the Stanhope-Netcong American Legion Ambulance Corps on Sunday\, June 11th.  Items can be dropped off at the Ambulance Squad Building located at 22 Linden Avenue in Stanhope between the hours of 1:00pm and 5:00pm.  (Please use the front entrance of the squad building on Linden Avenue.)  This is a fundraiser which will help with the purchase of equipment and supplies so that the Ambulance Squad can continue to offer free emergency medical service to the residents.  The squad will be compensated on a “per pound” basis for all the collected items.  This will help you get rid of unwanted items\, the items will be kept out of the landfill\, they will be recycled or they will be given to someone less fortunate.  Thank you for your support.  Please Click Here for the List of Items We Can Accept.
