SUMMARY:Stanhope Senior Citizens Club
DESCRIPTION:Our Seniors meet on the 4th Thursday of every month\, 11am\, at the American Legion Musconetcong Post 278 located at 119 Route 183 in Stanhope. (November’s meeting will be held on the 3rd Thursday of the month. The club does not meet in December or August.) Arrive at 11am for a social hour. The meeting begins at 12pm. Dues are $25 per year. Membership is open to any resident of Stanhope Borough and neighboring communities aged fifty years (50) and older.  A married couple of unequal age may join if one (1) is age fifty (50).  Annual dues are Twenty-five ($25) Dollars. This is a great way to meet new friends in a social setting! Coffee and cake is always served. Many activities are scheduled throughout the year. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, April 25\, 2026 (for one day only)\, Stanhope residents are invited to shred their documents and recycle electronics for FREE!  This event will take place at the Stanhope DPW Facility\, 7 Smith Street\, from 9am to 12 Noon. \nShredding: Each resident is allowed up to 3 file boxes of papers. No need to remove staples or paper clips. SUMMARY:Reminder to License Your Pets (Due By April 30th)
DESCRIPTION:Remember to license your pet no later than April 30th to avoid paying any late fees.  After April 30th a $5.00 per month\, per pet\, late fee will be added to the cost of the license. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm or you can drop off the renewal paperwork and check in the drop box located on the front door of the municipal building (77 Main Street) and we will mail the license and tags to you. DESCRIPTION:Recycling is picked up curbside every Wednesday. Please place your recycling in containers with lids at the curb the night before or prior to 5:00AM. \nIMPORTANT REMINDER: DO NOT PLACE RECYCLABLES IN PLASTIC BAGS when setting them out for collection. Plastic bags can cause issues at the sorting facility. The bags often jam the equipment\, lead to contamination\, or result in entire loads being diverted to the landfill instead of being recycled which is a cost to the Borough. PLEASE PLACE CLEAN RECYCLABLES INSIDE A CLOSED RECYCLING CONTAINER! Acceptable Recyclable Items: paper\, cardboard\, plastic bottles/jugs\, glass\, tin and aluminum cans. Set the cans at the curb. DESCRIPTION:Garbage collection will begin at 5:00AM weekly Thursday mornings. Garbage cans must be placed curbside the night before or prior to 5:00AM. \nThe Borough contracts with Blue Diamond Disposal for weekly garbage and bulk item collection. Questions concerning your garbage collection should be directed to 973-347-0159 x-15. \nGarbage Collection\nWHEN? Place your garbage cans at the curb the night before\, but no later than 5am Thursday morning.\nHOW MUCH? Each household is allowed to place four 32-gallon garbage cans\, with tight fitting lids\, at the curb for weekly collection. Garbage bags are not considered containers. \nStorage of garbage cans is permitted in the rear or side yard and should be 10 feet from any property line. \nBulk Item Collection\nWHEN? One bulk item may be placed at the curb with your weekly garbage.\nWHAT? Bulk items may include furniture\, mattress\, carpets\, children’s toys and even the kitchen sink.
