On April 28th , 2020 Governor Murphy announced Executive Order 130 allowing, not mandating, municipalities to extend the grace period for second quarter taxes due May 1st , 2020 from May 11th , 2020 to June 1st , 2020.
The Borough of Stanhope Governing Body at a special meeting held on May 1st , 2020 has passed Resolution 089-20 which is extending the grace period of second quarter taxes, not the due date. Failure to pay by June 1st , 2020 will result in interest accrual reverting back to the statutory due date of May 1st , 2020. The grace period for 3rd and 4th quarter remains unchanged. Second quarter taxes that have already been paid are non-refundable.
