The Stanhope School District has been awarded Preschool Expansion Aid (PEA), which will provide free full-day preschool for eligible resident students. PEA was initially awarded in the winter of 2024 with a spring 2024 ‘roll out’.
For next school year, there are only ten (10) spots available for general education preschool students, and students that are already enrolled in our program will be guaranteed enrollment next year. To ensure fairness and equal opportunity to all families of eligible preschool students, if student enrollment exceeds available registration, a lottery system will be conducted. The registration deadline for the 2024/25 school year is April 15, 2024. Any students registered after this date will not be eligible for the ‘lottery’ and will be placed on a waiting list after previously registered students. Registration information can be found on the District’s website. The preschool ‘lottery’ will be conducted at the public Board of Education meeting on April 24, 2024 at 7:00 pm at the Valley Road School. The meeting will also be live streamed on the District’s YouTube channel.
To provide additional information and to answer any questions you may have, the school will be holding a preschool information session on Wednesday, April 22, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Valley Road School. All parents are invited to attend.
