FREE SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN UNDER 18 (Project Self Sufficiency)

June 26, 2018

Project Self-Sufficiency (PSS) is providing a FREE SUMMER LUNCH program for children under the age of 18.  In partnership with the NJ Department of Agriculture, PSS is offering lunch every weekday from 11:15 – 1:15 at the Community Center located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.  Please spread the word, so that all families in our community know where to find the resources to combat childhood hunger.

Children who receive free or reduced price lunch during the school year often face a “summer hunger gap” when this crucial resource is not available.  This hunger gap contributes to many negative outcomes for lower-income families, impacting children’s health, education and development.  This outreach program will provide a nutritious lunch every weekday from June 25, 2018 through August 31, 2018.  This is available for ANYONE, ANYWHERE, UNDER 18.  Project Self-Sufficiency is asking for families to RSVP on their website so they can prepare the right amount of lunches.  However, preregistration is not required.  The website address is:  https://www.projectselfsufficiency.org/

Please help families know about this program to ensure no children in our community go hungry this summer.  See below for a viewable/printable flyer detailing this program along with two other flyers for programs offered by Project Self-Sufficiency.
